The best materials are not always new.
Every good craftsman wants to use the very best materials. The best quality raw material makes the workmanship much more worthwhile. It also, avoid problems that poor materials can sometimes create when being worked.
What we recognise at YDY is that the very best materials are often expensive, and they often cause a waste of good quality materials that have already been used in something that’s no longer suitable.
We are very keen to work with what you have, to see if we can ‘upcycle’ that coffee table that no longer fits the new living room, or the old oak headboard with broken fixings. Often these materials can be repurposed so you can have something unique for a little less money and know that you did your little bit for the planet.
Its not all bells and whistles.
You will see craftsman with the latest tools, the biggest saws, and the fancy gadgets. You Do You uses good old fashioned elbow grease, traditional techniques and tools. This helps us keep your cost down, and we have the skills and experience to achieve the end result without huge investment.
